We are finally at the fun part of our home renovation - selecting a color palette. Our current focus is the larger bathroom, which has 2 focal points - an exposed brick wall and a clawfoot tub. What are your thoughts - leave the exterior of the claw foot tub white? Or paint the exterior of the claw foot tub to match the wall color, which is "Beachglass" (a soft shade of blue/gray/green)? Please share your thoughts/opinions - all comments are very much appreciated!

I vote white for balance-soo cute though! love this xo
ReplyDeleteover from MODG, and I would paint the tub one shade darker than the wall, if the room is large, and one shade lighter than the wall if it is on the small side.
ReplyDeleteI can do this so easily for others, but can't pick my own when it comes to my house :( weird..
I think I'm in love with the red claw foot tub. So cute! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of painting it! Maybe a grey? No exact to the wall color, but matches? :)
ReplyDeleteI never even knew that you could paint a tub...great idea...and it looks so chic...
ReplyDeleteI say go for it, paint it...I think in decorating I tend to get fearful of making mistakes and I miss out on all my creativity...have fun with your home, I think it will make you smile every day to see the results and to know that you took a risk and it was everything you wanted!
Good luck~

My vote is for a splash of color!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea- Paint it!! Maybe chalkboard paint- that what I did in my bathroom- well on the door- that way I can jotted down items for my shopping list. Grey would be another color for your bath tub
ReplyDeletePost pics -when you are done- love to see

Wow! These bathrooms are so pretty! I love the one with the black wall! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh wow now I am obsessed with the red print in that bathroom, that is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteand good luck with your renovations, must be a lot of work!
Ooh, I love white clawfoot tubs, but painting it sounds so fun! Go for the color!
ReplyDeleteI think my first question would be, how hard is it to change that color? Is it easy to strip?
ReplyDeleteIf it is and easy change than do the color.
But if it is not easy...stay with the white.
Because a tub is a permanent fixture and I know in my bathrooms I've changed the color so much through the years.
color!it's looks better:)
ReplyDeleteMine is all white, but I adore these colored ones! Next time we paint I am asking about painting the bottom! Lovely.

ReplyDeleteclawfoot tub and exposed brick
paint the tub and leave the brick.
Oh and thanks for the birthday wishes!
I love the white clawfoot on a colored tub, it looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've never thought about one in color. LOVE the idea!
ReplyDeleteI vote for white, darling!

Oh boy. Any clawfoot tub will make my day!
ReplyDeleteI would stick with white, or even the neutral color that you have going on now, just to stay classic. Besides, I think it will go better with the brick. That way, you can dress up the curtains, sink or vanity with some color, and not be stuck with it if you decide to make a change.
Lucky you! What a great predicament to be in!
Thank you everyone for your input, opinions & suggestions - this is so helpful!
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate hearing everyone's ideas & will def keep you posted on what we end up doing :)

While I think the painted tubs look really cool in these photos, I'd have to stick with the classic white myself. I just think it always looks fresh and classic. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will be gorgeous and look forward to seeing what you decide!
I like it painted but not in bright colors, I would go for neutral ones (so you wont be tired of it soon).
ReplyDeleteLet us know the final decission!
