New Gadget

I rarely get excited when a new gadget is released. I have a blackberry and computer of course, but that's because I need to be able to run my business. I love to read and after getting numerous recommendations from friends who love their Kindles, I finally purchased one. I have to say - it's a great gadget. It's organized, light and easy to take with me wherever I go. I also love the convenience of downloading my books and magazines instantly. Now I'll have the fun of finding a case for it!

Smittens

I giggled when I came across these "Smittens."
With romance in mind, mittens built for two.
Good luck getting your guy to join in on this one ;)

Unique Gift Ideas

I was browsing for a unique gift idea and compiled the perfect gift set using pieces from Anthropologie. I will be wrapping everything together in a clear cellophane bag, tied closed with a raffia ribbon (I think I enjoy gift wrapping as much as shopping). Included in the gift bag, from left to right: Preening Pen (love the peacock print); Queen's Ransom Journal (perfect for notes, recipes, or as an address book); Mark-My-Words Bookmark (pretty vintage feel). I love how all three items look together.

The Most Amazing Coffee Table Book

This summer heat has fried my brain, and the last thing I want to do is read a serious book. So I turn to the work of comedic authors. Amoung my favorites - "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" and "Holidays on Ice" by David Sedaris, and I am still laughing out loud from Chelsea Handler's personal encounters in "My Horizontal Life." My sister gave me the most amazing coffee table book that tops all of these - "I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence," by Amy Sedaris. Amy is the super-funny & talented sister of David Sedaris. Her book is filled with advice on hospitality, ettiquette, and even includes some recipes. I could not put the book down. It's hilarious. Warning: If you are sensitive or easily offended, this is not the book for you. Go buy it now!

The Ultimate Summer Accessory

I've discovered the ultimate summer accessory (and almost wish I hadn't) - a cruiser bicycle. So many choices. Color combination? Metal basket or wicker? Bell or horn? After much deliberation, I've narrowed the many choices down to two, both by Electra. The Gigi (in light blue) and the Townie (in apple green). Which to choose?
